The Educational Response Project has surveyed Islamic schools in several Asian countries to determine the nature and scale of their terrorist/extremist infiltration. The project determines the extent of penetration of the Islamic schools, the relationship between extremism and militancy within schools, and the effectiveness of state responses. Drawing from global best practices in madrassa management, ICPVTR has proposed guidelines for self-regulation and procedures for management of Islamic religious schools. The project will also expand its focus to study asatizahs at Islamic schools primarily to ascertain the extent of influence of radical asatizahs over the students at these schools.
