ASSISTANT PROFESSOR Applications are invited from scholars whose research focus is on the analysis of political violence and terrorism. You will participate in the teaching of the School’s MSc and PhD programmes and play active roles in furthering the School’s policy-oriented research agenda. You will also manage a team of Research Analysts, give research direction, conduct threat analysis, as well as write and vet papers on political violence and terrorism. A PhD degree is a prerequisite for this position. Your PhD thesis should be on the topic of terrorism or a closely related issue. You should submit a detailed resume and sample research publications (if any), two writing samples and a cover letter specifying how your qualifications match the job description.IT EXECUTIVE OFFICER You will be required to assist in the development and maintenance of a new database system, web development and administration, as well as provide user support such as in trouble-shooting PCs, setting up audio-visual equipment for presentations, etc. Although you will primarily be with the ICPVTR, you would be required to provide user support to RSIS from time to time. Besides these main duties, you will also be needed to take photographs or to record videos at ICPVTR/RSIS events from time to time. You must have a diploma or a bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, and be familiar with HTML, PHP, JavaScript, LAMP, etc.COPY EDITOR You will be responsible for the editing of reports and profiles on terrorism, extremism and political violence which include lengthy text written by non-native English writers. To do this job, you will need to have a degree and relevant working experience. An excellent command of English with strong writing skills is a must. You will also need to be resourceful and meticulous and able to work with others in a fast paced environment.LANGUAGE OFFICER You will work in RSIS’s International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research to do translation work. You should have an attitude for and an interest in translating information on political violence and terrorism from Bahasa Indonesia to English. A good GCE ‘A’ level certificate or a polytechnic diploma, with proven proficiency in the English language, would be needed for this position.SENIOR ANALYST Description: Produce Middle East security and counterterrorism research and analysis for respected academic think tank in Singapore. Edit and vet the work of other analysts and provide them with guidance and training. Ample opportunity to publish, attend conferences, and gain access to leading international experts in the defense industry and academia. Salary: Dependent upon experience and education. Requirements: Proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic (absolutely required). Must have excellent English-language writing and editing skills as well as presentation/public speaking skills. At least 3 years experience as an analyst in the defense or counterterrorism fields preferred.
